Make Sure You Choose Your Carpet Right

If you are ready for a new floor in your house make sure you know what you’re getting and make sure your not paying to much. There are a lot of companies out there that are over charge and you may not always be getting what you think you are.

A couple of thing you might want to know is that if you can reach your fingers to the backing of the carpet through the thread that is a low density carpet and will not last as long as a shorter but denser carpet.

Now also remember that when you are looking for carpets that nylon is going to be a little more expensive but perhaps a little more comfortable because of the natural softness but so many chemicals are added to make it stain resistance which adds to the price. Now if you go with a poly it may be a little stiffer but should be a little cheaper because it is naturally stain resistance.

What is with builders these days.

Another day in the flooring business, Saturday morning, August 5th we come into the office to set up shop for yet another great day in the flooring business and looking forward to making more home owners in our community happier then when they got up this morning.
Well as I walk through the door low and behold, their our ceiling lie just 3 feet from the ground. Now a 5 year old would find this convient for they could now touch the ceiling but from a business perspective it creates a bit of a difficulty.

When are we going to go back to some good old building and the strong pride that builders once had in their work here in G.A. I mean really, down town Atlanta there are homes that were build in the 30s that you could run into with a 18 wheeler and not have a problem except fixing the wall you ran into, here in Gwinnett it has turned into if you throw a rock and a wall it might just fall, and builders these days have no idea what a 90 degree angle is, they just throw it up hoping that it is close. The standard has now turned into somewhere between 75 and 120 degree angle.
This is obscured, so now I would like to graciously invite you to do business with a company that takes pride in its work and wants your floor to be perfect no matter what the cost to us or our time.

The Busy Time Of The Business

You know, the flooring business is strange, everybody want the flooring in right when school gets back, you know when everything is hetic for everyone. Never understood that one but I'm not complaining either. It is like the month of Auguest and September are busy as they can be and then October is dead then November and December are slamed twice as bad as any other 4 months combined becasue people want their new floors in for the holidays.

So if you are looking for a deal in the flooring business, I would stay away from those to months, for the simple fact that they are the busy ones and sales are going to be less likely to cut you a deal. Now if you were to go in January or Febuary, that is when you will get your best deals in the flooring business.

I just got my new price on pad for carpeting, and it is running almost a dollar more a Sq Yd then what we have been selling it for. All of this because plants that make furniture are not doing good and getting beat out of prices by a broad companies so they are not producing.

If you were looking at buying carpet in the near future you better jump on it quick because at the rate that these prices are jumping it is going to create a tough time in the Flooring business. It will get to the point where carpet will become a luxury and hard hardwood floors and ceramic tile will become the norm. Easier up keep though if I do add myself.

Make sure that you don't get upset with your flooring company if they have to go up on your price from the original quote before due to this increase.
